Orifices and filters are available in such fittings as male connectors, unions, elbows, port connectors and an array of other common stainless compression tube fittings. Bird Precision offers sapphire and ruby orifices from .0004 through .081". These orifices have flow rates from less than .5 ccm dry air and are ideal for dispense tips, oxygen flow restrictors, medical and analytical gas applications, and are well suited for applications of high wear and chemical resistance. Sapphire and ruby are non-thrombogenic, zero porosity and do not outgas. This material is finding applications in many medical designs. Orifices come mounted in a variety of materials including stainless, Peek and titanium, and can be supplied with or without filters.

Bird Precisions' capabilities include a variety of quick connect orifice assemblies ideal for medical gas, analytical and pneumatic applications. These quick connect fittings are offered in orifice sizes from .0004" and up, with flow rates from less than .5 ccm dry air. Typical tube sizes are 1/16", 1/8" and larger, as well as metric sizes. A variety of male threads and NPTs are offered. These quick connect fittings also can be supplied with either single or dual filtration from 5 microns and up.

Pictured are new ruby orifice glands for face seal applications. Bird Precision supplies precision micron orifices in sizes 7.5 microns (.0003”) and up. These face seal glands are finding use in various vacuums, ultraclean, semicon, biochem, laboratory instrumentation and analytical applications. Orifice sizes can be laser etched. These ruby orifices yield precise, accurate, repeatable flow. They are true, wire lapped, sharp edged orifices with uniform Cd values. Ruby is practically chemically inert, next to diamond hardness, very wear resistant. Orifice sizes will yield flows from less than .5 ccm dry air, and will handle both gas and liquid applications.

These filtered products are ideal for filtering medical, analytical and pneumatic applications.
